    Zante Resorts - Bohali

The traditional region of Bohali contains the picturesque areas known as Varres, Akrotiri and Kryoneri.

A visit to this region is a must to understand the extensive beauty and traditional style, words are not enough.

The breathtaking panoramic views can be best enjoyed while sitting in one of the many open air cafes or tavernas while listening to the traditional Zakynthian folk music.

Bohali has a rich history with many places of interest to visit:

Lofos Strani is a large hill within Bohali, that is famously known throughout Greece as the place where Dionysos Solomos (national poet of Greece) composed the Greek National Anthem.

Venetian Castle that was built by the Italians while the seven Ionian Islands were under Italian occupation.

Nautical Museum containing the history of the Greek Navy with many artefacts from the Greek revolution. Also boats, torpedo's, uniforms and contributions from the 1st and 2nd World Wars.

St George of Filikon Chapel famous for its activity during the Greek Revolution against Turkey in1821. The Greek General Kolokopronis (printed on the last 5,000 drachma note) escaped mainland Greece and took solace at this chapel where the secret society (filiki eteria) were based. Here they planned their attacks.

The scenic region of Bohali is tranquil and idyllic and has many villas, traditional apartments and delightful place to stay for a relaxing holiday or short break.
